Good to know

Outside Tbilisi, most trips are by მარშრუტკა, a shared minibus that leaves when it’s full. Say აქ გამიჩერეთ, “stop here for me”, when you want to get off.

Where is…?

Put what you’re looking for after სად არის, “where is”: სად არის სადგური? is “where is the station?”. Pointing helps too.

Polite requests

Requests to strangers and drivers end in -ეთ, the polite form: მოუხვიეთ, “turn”, and გამიჩერეთ, “stop for me”.
